Customer Transfer Procedures

Code Introduction

Late in 2006 the TCF finalised Customer Transfer Codes for regulated and non-regulated telecommunication services.   These Codes set out practices that telecommunication providers must comply with whenever a customer requests a transfer of its telecommunications services.

The codes govern the transfer of a customer’s telecommunications services between service providers to ensure a seamless transition resulting in a high quality, uninterrupted service. One code covers regulated Telecom services and the other non-regulated Telecom services.

The Non-regulated Customer Transfer Code was effective from 3 August 2007 and the Regulated Customer Transfer Code was effective from 12 July 2007.

Customer Transfer Code Review

A new Customer Transfer Code working party was established in September 2008 to review and propose changes to the Code based on submissions received.  For more information visit the Current Workstreams > Customer Transfer Code page.
