Why Join the Scheme

Benefits for Members

While the TDR scheme has obvious appeal to consumers, becoming a member of the Scheme also offers significant benefits to telecommunications providers:

  • New members will be joining the major New Zealand telecommunications providers in taking a proactive approach to providing consumers with prompt, unbiased resolution of disputes
  • The TDR sets an industry standard that consumers will increasingly expect all telecommunications providers to adhere to
  • Scheme members are able to display a TDR ‘Quality Mark’ on their collateral, highlighting to customers that they are committed to delivering superior customer service
  • Industry cooperation strengthens public confidence and is keeping with the objectives of the Government
  • The TDR is free to join and if there are no complaints about a member, that telecommunications provider does not incur any charges but still benefits from being able to promote itself as a member of the Scheme.

Once Scheme Members code compliance date has past, Scheme  Members are entitled to use the Scheme branding on their website, customer invoices and other commmunications
