Why Join the Scheme
Benefits for Members
While the TDR scheme has obvious appeal to consumers, becoming a member of the Scheme also offers significant benefits to telecommunications providers:
- New members will be joining the major New Zealand telecommunications providers in taking a proactive approach to providing consumers with prompt, unbiased resolution of disputes
- The TDR sets an industry standard that consumers will increasingly expect all telecommunications providers to adhere to
- Scheme members are able to display a TDR ‘Quality Mark’ on their collateral, highlighting to customers that they are committed to delivering superior customer service
- Industry cooperation strengthens public confidence and is keeping with the objectives of the Government
- The TDR is free to join and if there are no complaints about a member, that telecommunications provider does not incur any charges but still benefits from being able to promote itself as a member of the Scheme.
