The scope of the review was to update the Code to align with the TCF’s Code Compliance Framework, separate premium and non-premium service requirements within the Code, incorporate the Mobile Content Code (2008) and make any other changes to reflect current business practice.
Following public consultation earlier this year, the revised Code has now been finalised and endorsed by the TCF Board.
The purpose of this Code is to:
- Encourage the responsible delivery of Messaging Services that are compliant with legal and regulatory obligations.
- Ensure that the Messaging Services operating in New Zealand provide a sustainable market place, by ensuring safe and responsible delivery of Messaging Services and Content where customers are informed and satisfied.
