Product Stewardship in action
The most effective product stewardship programmes make it easy for people to do the right thing.
RE:MOBILE is the telecommunications sector’s product stewardship scheme, helping recover valuable materials, keep waste out of landfill and support positive environmental outcomes.
Together, New Zealanders have now recycled more than one million mobile phones through RE:MOBILE.
This not-for-profit scheme is managed by the TCF and encourages New Zealanders to donate their unwanted mobile phones and accessories for re-use, refurbishment, or recycling. Its aim is to reduce the environmental impact of these devices and equipment and raise consumer awareness.
