What it is
The Standard is intended to provide a single, nationally aligned approach for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Interconnection that can be adopted by the New Zealand Telecommunications sector.
Purpose
The IP Interconnection for Voice Technical Standard provides a common framework for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) interconnection between telecommunications providers in New Zealand. The Standard establishes principles and minimum technical requirements for IP voice interconnection, with the objective of supporting consistent implementation, improving interoperability between networks, and reducing the need for customised interconnection arrangements.
